Central Vacuum Bags

Changing your central vacuum bags is essential to maintaining the health of your home and life of the machine. Replacing the 391 bag according to the manufacturers suggested timeline will help ensure your vacuum is working at maximum capacity. Contrary to popular belief using a bag with your central vacuum is still the way to go. With all the advances in bag less technology certain manufacturers would like us to believe that if we prefer to stick to the bags we are not really cleaning our house as well as it should be. They want us to believe that something as simple as a single filter will capture all the microscopic dust particles and allergens polluting our air. Most people do not realize that replacing their central vacuum bags as recommended could actually be cheaper and even healthier than changing to the canister models. A little research will tell you what models of both types of vacuums to choose from when looking at their ability to not only collect dust and dirt, but to actually make the air healthier.

Having a bagged or bagless system is really a personal choice. Both products have their advantages depending on what your specific needs, but bags will always have the price advantage. The NuTone 391 are available for all Classique and Advantage models. Their two ply electrostatically charged filter media captures particles down to .10 microns at 85% efficiency. For only around $8 a year you can keep your system cleaner and your home healthier. That is not a bad price to pay for peace of mind that your home is clean and free of allergens or pollutants that could harm your family.

In the past having to change the bag was a dirty nuisance. The thin paper walls of the bags allowed much of the dirt and dust to filter through and repollute the air. They were not constructed very sturdy and were easily susceptible to tearing. The thin cardboard collars used to attach the bag to the system would often tear spilling the contents everywhere. Bag less vacuums were advertised as easier and cleaner to maintain. The loyal customers to the central vacuum bags soon caught up. Now the 391 bags are made of special fibers that trap all types of air pollutants. They have sturdy plastic seals that contain the contents of the bag when being changed. People soon found out that maintaining their bag less vacuums was not any easier. The canisters had to be emptied in an outside container so they did not cause a cloud of dirt and dust just vacuumed. The filters became quite expensive to change and if a person tried to save a few bucks by cleaning the filter themselves they were often greeted by the smell of mold and mildew the next time they turned the machine on. Using bags started to make sense again.
